Weekend Challenge

This weekend I am taking on a new challenge. I'm making a baby quilt with embroidery but instead of the standard embroidery on the blanket itself, it will be on the binding or satin edging of the blanket. Each of the 4 sides will have a different saying on it.

I have a couple of theories for how I am going to accomplish evenly spaced letters both vertically and horizontally on all 4 sides. I'll let you know later this weekend how my theories work out!

Wish me luck!! Pictures will follow!

Simple Embroidery Projects

Here are a couple pictures of two simple embroidery projects using a golf towel and dog collar purchased at the store.

Here is a golf towel I found at Target and added a monogram.  This will be given as a gift to a co-worker tomorrow.

I also wanted to try my embroidery machine on a nylon dog collar.  I added her name and phone number in case she gets out.  I am thinking about offering these as a custom order in my Etsy shop. Let me know if you are interested!!

Personalized Dog Collar

I have a chocolate lab that doesn't lie still during the night.  She is constantly roaming the halls, checking on the kids I guess.  I've been bad about making sure she has her ID tag on because it makes so much noise with every little movement and literally keeps me awake at night!  Of course the concern is that if she gets out of the house, no one would know who to call.

I had an idea that I thought would take care of both situations: no noisy collar and an identifiable dog.  I  ran to the store to pick up a nylon dog collar and decided to embroider her name and our phone number on the collar.  I am pleased with the way it came out, I'll post pictures this evening so you can see for yourselves and let me know what you think.

Have a great day!

Dad's Cozy New Pillow

Here is my daughter who couldn't be more proud of the pillow case she made for Dad!  She was so excited to give it to him last night she was jumping up and down.  Below is the surprise message that we added to the pillowcase.

This was my first attempt at downloading an image off the internet and loading it into my embroidery machine. It was pretty easy!
