Tampa Original Sewing and Quilt Expo

Yesterday I took the day off of work and went to the Sewing and Quilt Expo in Tampa. I was there from 10am until 5:30pm, it was great! There were so many vendors with a lot of cool products. It's a great place to see and try all kinds of products. The quilts on display were amazing. Unfortunately, they don't allow you to take pictures of the quilts that are on display in the exhibit hall. To bad, because it was amazing and very inspiring to see how creative people can be. If only there were more time in the day.
Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of the things I picked up at the show. The red circle is called a Quilt Halo and is used for free motion quilting on your machine. It kind of works like an embroidery hoop without having to clamp the fabric between two hoops. I was able to try this at the show and it worked really well. I am hoping it will make the quilting process easier for Maddie's quilt. I also purchased a new foot to sew curved pieces together. I didn't get to actually try the foot but did stand right behind the woman doing the demo. The curved fabric went together just as easy as two straight edge pieces. I also found a new purse pattern, you can never have too many of them! Last, I found a few yards of fabric that I really liked and will probably use for the purse.
It was a lot of fun strolling through the aisles over and over again. Each time I found something new that caught my eye. I fell in love with the HQ Longarm system, only $7,000! (Someday I'll win the lottery!) I watched a bunch of embroidery machines at work and want one even more now. I really need my own store!!
I am already looking forward to next year's show!
